Caleres Fabrication Studio

Supports studio and coursework assignments, as well as independent research projects conducted by students and faculty. Beyond the fabricating equipment and tools typically found in wood and metal shops, the School’s equipment includes laser cutters, three-axis CNC routers, and plastic 3-D printers.

The Chemistry Department Machine Shop on the Danforth campus is a fully-equipped and professionally staffed machine shop with computer controlled milling machines and computer controlled lathe. We have precision lathes, programmable indexing head and rotary table, sheet metal and wood-working shops, ironworker and welders.

These facilities at the McKelvey School of Engineering provide students the training and opportunity to learn and practice hands-on manufacturing techniques in a safe and supervised environment. We also offer instructional support to students, faculty and staff from the School of Engineering, as they work on class projects, research, and student club team design competitions.
