Tech Den Level I Tech

Department:  WashU IT, Tech Den

Reports to: Tech Den, Assistant Director

Salary/Hours:  up to 20 hours/week, $13-$14.50/hr 

Position Summary: The Tech Den Level I Tech provides support with student facing tech bench troubleshooting. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, thorough and willing to learn new skills, who will work with full time staff to explore technical support efforts for all graduate, non-residential, international and medical students.  On the job training will be provided for the this position.

Job Duties:

  • Front line customer support, greeting clients, answering phones and creating incidents in ServiceNow, the records management software.
  • Assessing the level of hardware or software support needed.
  • Assigning loaner laptops as needed.
  • Support Tech Den/University 3D print efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Meet basic STaRS hiring criteria: student with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA, in good academic and judicial standing – upperclassmen and graduate students highly encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and networks.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A strong desire to learn.
