Washington University promotes high-quality campus computing.
Wondering about the recommended specs for a laptop for your degree? Check out techden.wustl.edu – a new site that brings together each school’s recommended hardware specifications and more.
At the center of the initiative is the requirement that undergraduate students new to Washington University in St. Louis own laptop computers that meet University specifications. If a student’s technology is insufficient, Tech Den will recommend upgrades to existing technology, a replacement machine, or another solution to meet students’ technology needs.
This website was created to publish the minimum and recommended specifications that laptops should meet, to provide a central location for specific requirements that the individual WashU schools may have, as well as to provide links to specific models that meet those requirements at a competitive price. New and returning students looking to learn more about obtaining technology grant money to help them pay for a laptop can gather more information here.
